Two summers ago, when I started noticing my makeup settling and creasing around my smile lines and crows feet more than ever before. As a makeup artist, skin health is incredibly important to me. No matter how good the makeup products are, they can only look as good as the skin underneath. When I started seeing these changes on my own skin, I knew I needed to pay more attention to what was happening. My skin was becoming noticeably drier, and fine lines were slowly starting to appear. I switched to a richer moisturiser, which definitely helped, but I could still see signs of dehydration and dullness.
That’s when I started researching ways to improve skin health and reduce the appearance of fine lines. During my search, I came across red light therapy. The concept fascinated me, and the more I read about it, the more interested I became.
Of course, the research rabbit hole only got deeper. There were so many masks on the market, all claiming amazing results. I was also skeptical about how effective and safe they really were.
And as we all know, the moment you start searching for something online, Instagram suddenly decides that every reel and advertisement should be about that exact thing! It felt like red light therapy masks were following me everywhere.
After weeks of reading reviews, comparing options, and trying to separate genuine experiences from marketing, I finally decided to purchase the Shark CryoGlow Mask.
When I finally opened the box, I have to admit, I was slightly intimidated! It reminded me of The Mask cartoon character, and I couldn’t stop laughing at how futuristic it looked.
After charging it fully and reading through the manual, I was finally ready to give it a go.
I used the infrared setting and noticed an immediate glow. My skin looked fresher and more radiant right away.
After using it for a week
- My skin tone looked more even
- Dullness had noticeably reduced
- My skin appeared healthier overall
This is where I really started to notice a difference:
- My skin felt much bouncier and more hydrated
- The appearance of my pores had reduced significantly
- Redness had calmed down dramatically
- My skin felt alive, healthy, and refreshed
I’ve continued using the same setting consistently and plan to complete the full eight weeks recommended in the manual.
My Unexpected Favourite Feature
The cooling eye pads deserve a special mention.
While I originally bought the mask for the skincare benefits, the biggest surprise wasn’t the glow, it was how much I enjoy the daily ritual. My 6min 22sec therapy session has become a little moment of calm in my day. I genuinely look forward to it every evening. It’s relaxing, helps me switch off mentally, and leaves my skin looking and feeling amazing.
Final Thoughts After Two Weeks
So far, I am genuinely impressed with the Shark CryoGlow Mask. While it’s still early days and I want to complete the full 8 week programme before giving a final verdict, the improvements I’ve seen in just two weeks have been very encouraging.
